Then, at the age of twenty, Joseph read a tract "Amazing Grace". He gave Jesus a chance and tasted of the goodness of God. His life was revolutionized at that moment, but he was shunned by his family and village. Joseph then received training at seminary and purposed to reach his village for the Lord. A church with many believers now stands on the same grounds that the Hindu temple where Joseph was dedicated in as a child once stood. Joseph founded New Hope Ministries in 1986 and now serves as its director in India. Throughout his entire ministry, he has always cared for the poor, widowed, orphaned, and outcasted people of India.

Many Christians in India minister in the cities, but God has given New Hope Ministries a special call and heart to reach the villages outside of the cities and to share hope with those who have never heard of the love of Christ. They have now been successfully training other native missionaries with a similar call to do the same.

Geoff and Linda joined New Hope Ministries in 2003 when it became clear that the ministry needed a support base here in the United States to enable Joseph and the other native missionaries to carry out God's calling to reach the unreached. The native missionaries in India have the passion and dedication to take the Gospel to their people, but they do not have the resources that we have here in the United States. It is clear that in the U.S., "God has made us rich in every way so that we can be generous on every occasion." (2 Corinthians 9:11)
